Amnesia Haze : Storia e Origine
La preferita di Amsterdam, Amnesia haze è una varietà di cannabis sativa che emette una forte fragranza di agrumi/limoni con dolci sfumature floreali.
Trattandosi di una straordinaria miscela di genetiche diverse, appositamente modificate allo scopo di produrre solo piante femmine, Amnesia si qualifica senza ombra di dubbio come una tra le più popolari varietà di Cannabis Light.
C’è chi sostiene sia una varietà di cannabis nata negli anni 70 sotto una pianta di cedro. C’è chi pensa, invece, che questa varietà di cannabis sia nata dal lavoro comune di due aziende statunitensi, che negli anni 90 erano specializzate in produzione di semi di cannabis nuovi.
Tuttavia, le origini reali dell’Amnesia risalgono proprio agli anni 90, quando un ibrido composto da una varietà di cannabis afgana, una giamaicana e una hawaiana, prodotto dagli stessi creatori della Haze, è arrivato in Olanda dagli Stati Uniti. Successivamente è stata ulteriormente ibridata per ottenere una varietà di cannabis nuova dal sapore inconfondibile.
Come vi abbiamo accennato, l’amnesia ha vinto numerosi Cannabis Cup come migliore varietà di marijuana a predominanza sativa.
Un’altra leggenda legata all’Amnesia è relativa al suo nome. Si dice, infatti, che il grower che la creò, volle essere il primo a provarla. Così restò chiuso in casa con degli amici per tre giorni, continuando a utilizzare questa varietà di cannabis. Secondo questa strana storia, il terzo giorno il grower perse completamente la memoria per 24 ore. Una specie di amnesia temporanea, che lo spinse a chiamare questa varietà di cannabis Amnesia Haze. Qualcuno è convinto che sotto a questa leggenda ci sia un fondo di verità, legata al potente effetto della genetica di marijuana.
Alcuni consumatori suggeriscono che questa varietà è meglio usarla quando si ha tempo libero e non si devono svolgere compiti importanti.

Amnesia Haze is famous for its natural earthy, woody scent typical of cannabis. Its terpene profile is quite complex. Added to this natural base are strong notes of citrus fruits, particularly orange, citron and lemon. Hints of incense and musk can also be recognized, making this marijuana strain unmistakable. The result is a perfect mix of sweet and fruity, with a slightly citrusy aftertaste.
Method of Cultivation of Amnesia haze
Amnesia was created using Afghani Hawaiian, Jamaican Sativa, and Laos Sativa, but there is an ongoing debate claiming that it comes from Super Silver Haze and Cambodia Sativa.
(There are debates about whether Thai, Afghani were somehow incorporated into the crossbreed.)
This is a fairly simple marijuana strain to grow, suitable for more or less experienced growers. It is a very hardy variety that grows well in temperate and Mediterranean climates, but can easily adapt to colder temperatures.
When grown indoors, it does not grow so much in height, but rather in width, developing thick bushy branches. Conversely, if sown outdoors, direct sunlight will make it grow as tall as it is wide. In fact, the plants can reach up to five feet in height.
The flowering period of Amnesia Haze varies from 11 to 13 weeks , and harvest occurs in the fall.
The flowers are harvested and selected by hand and then tanned using a special process of dehydrating the flower in a humidity-controlled environment, keeping the terpene and resin profile contained perfectly intact.
Its CBD levels average 17 percent and can be as high as 20 percent.
Growers should be aware that its growth time is typically longer than the norm, with a flowering time of 12 weeks.
