Purple Haze

Appearance

Purple Haze makes its appeal clear from the start, with medium to large flowers that maintain a spade shape, tapering from a broad base to a pointed tip.

True to their sativa heritage, these buds have a relatively loose structure, with their soft, fluffy leaves spiraling out from their central stems. The leaves themselves are a patchwork of moss green and the deep purple that gives this variety its name.

The purple color of Purple Haze comes from the predominant pigments in their leaves, called anthocyanins or anthocyanins, which are able to absorb light wavelengths except those inherent in the indigo spectrum. For this reason, the plant develops the purple color only at the end of the vegetative stage, so when it is about to flower.

To decrease chlorophyll and increase anthocyanins, the plant is grown at cooler temperatures to derive theIconic Purple color.

Aroma

When properly cared for, Purple Haze flowers give off a moist, wet smell .
A second sniff reveals some sour and berry notes.
Meanwhile, grinding or harvesting these flowers releases an herbal aroma, familiar to Haze fans
Multiple Haze buds typically acquire vibrant lavender undertones that further justify this strain’s name.
Notably, despite its purple coloring and popular belief, this variety has no distinguishable grape flavors; this is because the pigments that determine its color do not have a corresponding effect on its taste.

Growing Method of Purple Haze CBD

Seeds of true Purple Haze can be difficult to find for sale online.
A safer option is to take clippings from existing plants of the strain in order to foster “clones.”

Italian cultivation involves elongated flowering cycles to draw the highest possible percentage of CBD. The plant blooms over 8 to 9 weeks, when it begins to acquire its typical vibrant violet lavender hues, with some obvious orange pistils adding a strong visual contrast.

Its origins are due to the crossing of two genetics such as Jack’s Cleaner 2 and Panama Haze. Purple haze marijuana has a very strong and intense flavor and the aftertaste turns out to be very distinctive. So enveloping that it is associated by similarity with a classic Cheese family genetic.
